What they say

Pikes Peak – All Meat Combination. Mounds of Italian sausage, pepperoni, beef, salami, linguica, and ham with 100% real, whole milk mozzarella cheese on classic red sauce. If we put any more meat on this pizza, you’d need a side of mashed potatoes and gravy. From the very beginning, we aimed to provide the highest-quality pizza using only the freshest and finest ingredients available.toppings to the edge, and dough made fresh daily. 40 years later and our mission hasn’t changed! Mountain Mike’s does not compromise on quality or value, and still makes the best pizza in the West!

What we say

Mountain mikes is a pizza chain that we always wanted to visit and we finally got our chance yesterday. We went for the Pikes Peak Pizza (which apparently is the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains, in North America – the mountain not the pizza).

We opted for the traditional large crust, and the offering looked very appetizing and smelt lovely. The base was fairly thick and was soft and chewy on the inside and crisp on the base, and we could really taste the Whole Wheat fresh dough. The cheese was spread almost to the edge so no hard bits. Classic red sauce was pungent and we felt it had hints of tabasco.

Very nice. Whole milk mozzarella cheese, unlike some other chains which use part skimmed and it is of superior quality and liberally spread with a stringiness that will satisfy. A decent amount of Italian sausage in small pieces on top which is tender with a slight oniony taste. The chain’s signature Crispy,

Curly Pepperoni which form little cups due to the natural casing they use is a welcome change to standard slices and is a bit spicier than some but oozing with meat juices. Little bits of spicy ground beef were similarly succulent. Nice big slices of ham coated the surface which was intermingled with spicy, sweet, savory salami.

The linguica was garlicky but not overly so. Quite a combination of meats that we felt really complemented each other, but the pizza was mildly overpriced compared to some, but if you’re a pizza aficionado then this is one to try. A winner

A thumbs up from The Pizza Lads
