Cherry Pepper Bombshell Pizza from Pizza Hut
Cherry Pepper Bombshell Pizza Review from Pizza Hut
What they say
Premium crushed tomato sauce, premium salami, Peruvian cherry peppers and fresh spinach with toasted Asiago on the crust edge and a balsamic sauce drizzle. “No one outpizzas the hut”.
What we say
The lads love pizza hut but we have never had a Cherry Pepper Bombshell pizza which must win an award for the name alone. They recommended the thin n’ crispy crust so we went with that. The pizza looked great with vibrant red and green colors. The base was Hand-tossed and is light and thin with some crunch, in fact it can be too crisp for some tastes but we quite like it that way.
The toasted Asiago cheese added a nutty / buttery sort of taste but was quite pleasant. Premium crushed tomato sauce was lovely, sweet and bursting with flavor. Premium salami was a slightly posh pepperoni, the meat was tangy and spicy and of decent quality and the slices were huge. The Peruvian Cherry Peppers (and no we have never heard of them either) had a citrusy tang with a hint of sweet fruitiness, not too strong but very succulent.
Fresh spinach is not for some but the bitterness offsets the sweetness of the peppers and sauce. Balsamic sauce drizzle added more rich, complex sweetness. All in all a very different pizza with the emphasis on sweetness as opposed to savory. Complex flavors combine to make this an experience to be tried (at least once)
A thumbs up from The Pizza Lads
